Any three tools or more from the six countries. Nothing here overlaps with anything else — each one is pointed at a part of you the others cannot help. The more you put in the box, the less the whole box costs.
- Free shipping — from the US, in about 8 days
- 7-day returns — unopened; it is a hygiene item
- All six together — that is the full ritual box at $69.99
The box gets cheaper the fuller it gets.
There is no code and no minimum spend — the discount is on the number of tools, and it comes off by itself in the cart. Three is the smallest box we make, because below that it stops being a ritual and starts being a sponge.
- Three tools10% off the whole box. Enough to cover your face, your body and one problem area.10% off
- Four tools15% off. The usual choice — most people want the two cloths plus the face and the feet.15% off
- Five or more20% off, which is as far as we go. If you want all six, the full ritual box is cheaper still.20% off
Your skin is not one texture, so one tool was never going to do it.
The reason a single loofah disappoints everybody is that it is being asked to handle a cheek and a heel with the same surface. Nothing in the list overlaps — each one is pointed at a part of you the others can't help. Pick by the part of you that bothers you.
- FaceKonjac spongeThinnest skin on you, and the one place a scrub mitt is a bad idea. Soft enough to use daily.
- BackAfrican net spongeFour feet long because your arms are not. Reaches between the shoulder blades, where most breakouts live.
- Arms, legs, torsoKessa gloveThick enough skin to take real friction, gentle enough to go everywhere. The one to start with.
- Knees, elbows, shinsItaly towelWhere skin is thickest and roughest. The coarser cloth earns its place exactly here.
- Heels and the balls of the feetPumiceCallus is dead by definition. A mitt slides over it; a stone takes it down.
- TeethMiswakTravels without liquids, needs no water, and is the one thing in the box you use away from the shower.
The three that cover the most ground.
People agonise over this, so here is the honest answer. These three between them handle your face, everything from the neck down, and the part that cracks in winter — which is most of what anyone actually complains about.
- The kessa gloveYour default for arms, legs and torso. It is the one you will reach for every week, so if you only take one thing, take this.Body
- The konjac spongeThe only thing in the list that is safe on a face. Nothing else here can do that job, so it never doubles up with anything.Face
- The pumice stoneHeels are the one place a cloth genuinely cannot help. It is also the cheapest thing in the box, so it costs you very little to include.Heels
The order matters more than the pressure.
Whatever you put in the box, use it in this order and once a week, not more. Twice will leave you raw, and skin rebuilds thicker if you keep taking it off.
- Steam firstTen minutes under hot water before you pick anything up. On dry skin none of these does much of anything — the soak is most of the work.10 min
- Back first, if you have the netHold it at both ends and saw gently across the shoulders. This is the bit you have never actually been able to reach.1 min
- Then arms, legs and torsoLong strokes, light pressure, no soap. Stop when the skin goes pink — pink is the signal, not the goal.3 min
- Then the stubborn patchesKnees, elbows, shins with the coarser cloth. Short passes, then move on. That one you can overdo, so don't linger.1 min
- Feet near the endSmall circles on the softened callus. Stop when it feels smooth, not when it feels sore.2 min
- Face last, alwaysThirty seconds, no cleanser, then rinse and hang it up. Doing the face first just means scrubbing it with a dirty sponge.30 sec
- Rinse everything, hang everythingAll of it dries in under two hours if you don't leave it sitting in a puddle. That is the whole maintenance routine.1 min
We opened this month, so there is nothing to quote at you.
Every new shop faces the same choice and plenty of them quietly take the other one. We would rather tell you what we are going to do instead.
- Fourteen days after your box is delivered we email once and ask what you thought. Whatever comes back gets published, good or bad, unedited.
- Nothing on this page is a review we wrote, bought, or lifted from somewhere else. When there are real ones, they will be here with names on them.
- If the box is not what you expected, tell us within seven days and we refund it unopened. If it never turns up within twenty days, we refund it either way.
- Every claim here is about what the tools do, not what they cure. Nothing in the box is a medical device and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Before you build one.
Why can't I just buy one?
The six cultural tools are sold as a box, not one at a time. On their own they are commodities you can find anywhere for a few dollars, and the thing worth having is the set — each one covering a part of you the others can't. So the smallest box is three.
Do I have to enter a code?
No. Pick three or more, and the discount is already applied when you reach the cart. You will see it as a line on the cart page before you pay for anything.
Is building my own cheaper than the full box?
Only up to a point. Three, four or five tools of your choosing is cheaper than buying all six. But if you want everything, the full ritual box is about ten dollars less than picking all six here — it is the better deal by design.
Which three should I pick?
If you have no idea: the kessa glove, the konjac sponge and the pumice. Body, face and heels — the three complaints people actually have. Everything above that is refinement.
Will it all arrive together?
Usually, but not always. The tools ship from different warehouses in the US, so occasionally an order splits and one piece lands a day or two behind the rest. Shipping is free either way and you are never charged twice.
How long does it take to arrive?
About eight days from the US, free, with a tracking number when it leaves. If it has not arrived in twenty days we refund you without arguing about it.
How long does each tool last?
Each cloth is about six months of weekly use, the net sponge and the pumice close to a year. The konjac is six to eight weeks — that one is a vegetable and is meant to break down. A miswak stick lasts a few weeks; you trim the frayed end back as you go.
Can I use them every day?
The konjac sponge, yes — daily is what it was made for. The cloths and the pumice, once a week. Exfoliating more often does not make skin smoother; it makes it rebuild thicker and then it gets irritated.
Is it a good gift?
It is the main reason people buy it, and building it yourself makes it a better one — you are picking for a specific person rather than handing over a stock set. Put their address in as the shipping address at checkout; there is no price anywhere in the parcel.
Anyone who should not use the pumice?
Yes. If you have diabetes, neuropathy or poor circulation, don't — reduced sensation in the feet means you can take off far more than you meant to before you feel it. See a podiatrist instead. The rest of the box is fine.
Can I return it?
Unopened, within seven days, yes. Once a scrub cloth has been on skin we can't resell it, so opened boxes are not returnable — that is a hygiene rule, not a trick. If something arrives damaged or wrong, send a photo and we replace it.
Build the box you'll actually use.
Pick what your skin needs and skip what it doesn't. The more you put in, the less the whole thing costs.
